ocz vertex 3 with t520 quad core fails with BSOD - help!

#1 Post by destructo » Tue Apr 19, 2011 1:43 pm

I just got a new t520 quad core. I replaced the hard drive with a new vertex 3, installed windows 7 64 bit off of a dvd (letting windows create partitions automatically as needed), and the machine has never been able to boot into windows. It starts to, and then quickly blue screens and re-starts.

anyone know if this is a known issue? Do I need to wait for a new bios? Is there a work around?

Found this on Tech Forum.net:

It could be hardware driver conflict or it could be incompatible software or etc.
If it BSOD of you, pay close attention to it and be ready to jot it down so that we can back trace it and find out whats going on for you.

NOTE: also go right back into bios and look under your AHCI settings and make sure your ssd drive isn't set to IDE mode but sata ahci mode.
That should resolve some problems and allow your ssd to stay online for good.

Did you set the SSD as the first boot device? Sure...just asking.
