Charging T60 from USB?

This may be a silly question but is it possible to charge a T60 from a USB portable power supply?

I have a Trent power pack which is ideal for iPads etc but essentially charges any device via USB but am unsure if the T60 can accept it via its USB, I'm wary of trying in case I fry my laptop.

Any opinions?

There are only (5) ways to charge a Thinkpad battery that I am aware of, and none of them use USB.

1.) Some docks and ultrabases have a battery charge port
2.) AC Adapter
3.) DC Adapter
4.) AC/DC Combo Adapter
5.) External charger

The AC/DC Combo adapter can charge your other devices though ...

QUITE SIMPLY. NO YOU CANNOT.
the reason is that the voltage from a USB supply is only 5 volts. this means you would also need a voltage invertor which increased the output voltage compared to the supply voltage

The 2 pins of a USB port PROVIDE a regulated power upto 500ma... It is OUTPUT only.

DO NOT try to apply voltage TO a USB port (unless you like the smell of burnt circuitry).

You can however use these ports to charge MANY different devices ranging from phones, handheld gaming devices, media players, to AA/AAA batteries. They can also power devices that aren't even remotely applicable to computers... Mini Refrigerators, Coffee warmers, lava lamps...

Your external charger WILL indeed charge ANY device that is designed to be charged like described in the previous paragraph. Think of your external charger as a portable USB port (power only of course)
