X201 screen dimming

#1 Post by jvarszegi » Sat Apr 23, 2011 5:55 am

Actually, it's not just dimming. On battery power, the contrast will slowly get washed out as the screen dims, then it will recover somewhat. It is highly annoying, although I suppose this is a power-saving feature designed to bludgeon me into happy acceptance of different settings.

How do I turn it off? I can't find the setting. I'm sorry if this is a newbie question.

After reading the following, I set the screen resolution while on battery power, using the graphics properties, to 60 Hz, and disabled the indicated "power saving" feature in graphics properties. It hasn't happened for a few minutes now, at least. Very highly annoyed at this bug, and will be glad if it's fixed.

Does anyone know if the 32-bit driver referenced later on (page 9 or 10) will work on a 64-bit machine? Thanks.
