X100e/X120e Screens

#1 Post by Colonel O'Neill » Sun Apr 24, 2011 9:31 pm

Is the only panel being used in the X100e and X120e the Samsung LTN116AT01-401?
Quantitatively, I see figures saying 250 nits and 400:1 contrast.

The screen in my X100e seems really good to me, but I do hear lots of people saying otherwise.

What panels did you guys get in your X100e and X120e's?

On a related note, here's my calibration made using the Windows wizard:
http://www.mediafire.com/?i9xapkslx9saqv4
Gets rid of the cool blue LED tint, but I think it slightly overcompensates into the warm side.

Everest says:
LP116WH1-TLB1
image matrix (translation?) : 17:9

Where do I find the nits?

Thanks for the calibration file.

I don't know the brand of lcd but my x100e is super bright, especially after the last BIOS upgrade. Also, I rather like the possible bluish tint rather than a say, yellowish tint that's present on older Thinkpad displays.....

My two cents,

Hmm. LP116WH1-TLB1 is an LG panel. How does it look to you? My calibration will almost certainly not apply to that panel.

The internet turns up anything from 200 to 300 nits, and 200:1 to 800:1 contrast for that panel. Now that I look harder, there's conflicting specs for the LTN as well.

Anyone have anything conclusive?

I was also aiming for neutral colors, but that was as close as I got.
LEDs are naturally bluer, and older CCFL screens yellow with age.

looks blueish...
I don't see a difference with normal Windows 7 config and your calibration file...

Can't seem to find more than a few references to LP116WH1-TLP1. :?

Windows won't apply the calibration unless you go to Advanced color calibration's Advanced tab, Change system defaults, and check the Use Windows display calibration checkbox.

How do you find out what screen your machine has without disassembly?

Ok, I found out how to apply.
It looks more red than the normal setting.

Likely; considering that you have a completely different panel than mine.
Best to use the calibration wizard directly.
