ANOTHER new product? Thinkpad X-Slate? *PIC*

#1 Post by LenovoGringo » Sun Apr 24, 2011 10:41 pm

Hopefully this one won't be such a let-down as the X1:

Don't know if the pics are real, but the product (X-slate) apparently is. A tablet with touch and PEN input plus the option of a keyboard. A Thinkpad? Awesome. This time around Lenovo got the price RIGHT! Yippe! :D

Only downside is the 16:10 aspect ratio. Come'on, get 16:12 like the iPad!

Admin edit: Moved from x2xx/X30x forum, adding PIC warning in subject line and removed second inline photo.

EDIT: Found some new pics:

^^^ Really? You do realize that this is different from the Lepad/U1 or whatever right? All of my sources point to a July launch.

So... no, not really.

The links you posted are discussing the "LePad" which is different than the ThinkPad-branded device shown in the images.

What I wish is that the booklet keyboard would have and it seemingly does not have is a TRACKPOINT! I was thinking out of ignorance that this would make it infamously a ThinkPad branded product without the Trackpoint. Buth there is also IBM ThinkPad 730TE which has not trackpoint. However it would be awsome to have such a booklet cover keyboard, with a trackpoint.

Does Honeycomb even support a mouse pointer? It's a touch screen oriented tablet OS.

For anyone Instrested ,,,,,,,,,,,this is what I have
Works very nicely and YES > it DONT HAVE ANY "trackpoint" :P
<ipad2 laptop>

Works about like any laptop & faster ,,, and I save most things via a doc to this- this

-with most amaz'ing Display and connection abilities so doing Demos and PPts = always a buzz....!!!
not sure any PC (nor Andr'd based ssytems) would ever catch up anytime soon ,,,, however I do hope they do. That will than force apple to cut prices!

However for any "grunt work" I always switch to my W520 Series !!

Cheers

Well, the iPad2Laptop is cool.

Regarding the mouse support of honeycomb, well, the booklet keyboard has a touchpad, how's that for mouse support?
