Mother Board Identification

#1 Post by tn7 » Wed Apr 27, 2011 11:43 pm

I am trying to identify my mother board on my T42. Is the part number on the mother board visible without pulling it out of the PC? I know I have the ATI 7500 chip problem whenever I move the laptop. As long as I keep pressure on the right hand side of the keyboard, its fine. As soon as I remove my hand, the screen goes blank, never to come back without a reboot.

Welcome to the forum!

Open up the RAM slot on the bottom of the machine. FRU of your board is under the DIMM if there is one instaled...

Thank you! I will look there. Mine is fully loaded, so I will have to remove the DIMM. That's probably why I did not see it there when I looked before.
