Re: no indicators lights
I'm not quite sure what you mean. Could you say what exactly is working, or what is happening when you start the laptop.hi. i got t42 sxga+ 14" recently. mahchine seems to work fine but the indicators on the screen don't work. is there simple solution to fix the problem? thanks
For instance do you hear the fan and Hard Drive appearing to work normally but nothing on the screen?
Or there is a display on the screen but the indicator lights just don't come on?
If you have nothing displayed on the screen:
1. What happens when you connect an external monitor to it.
2. If you remove all RAM and switch it on again, do you get any error beeps?
Apologies for all the questions but it'll help towards a solution.

hi. everything works perfect apart from the set of green indcators: HDD, Battery, Power, Wi-Fi, Sleep, Caps Lock

Re: no indicators lights
Change the inverter and see whether that helps.

Re: no indicators lights
It will likely work, but I'd spend a couple of quid on the correct inverter that was prescribed for the screen in question.

Re: no indicators lights
connected sxga screen assembly to t40 and indicators work just fine but when xga screen connected to t42 they don't. inverters are 100% ok. it looks like a motherboard issue. anyone any ideas? thanks

Re: no indicators lights
Could be a fuse I suppose. See the link in poshgeordies sig above for fuse locations. (How To's & Info here.)
Re: no indicators lights
Hi. Thanks Harryc. It was one off the fuses closest to screen connection named F7. My board had the fuse in different place than the pictured one but with multimeter there shouldn't be a problem to find the blown one. Thanks again
