Although there's already conspiracies about the whole thing being a setup that the US fabricated. Why? Who knows...

I suppose, Hunterman, that the principle of "You may have the body" or "Habeas Corpus" has been ignored in the haste to dispose of his body. However, it is hard to imagine that DNA evidence wasn't determined before disposal. There will always be people who consider conspiracy. That's life.

Re: Finally: they got Osama Bin Laden!
Considering how 9/11 and onwards has attracted conspiracy theories, why is one more surprising?
Personally, while I'm certainly not dismayed that he's going to find out about those 72 Virginians, I think cheering is premature. aQ isn't really a top-down organization. The individual cells actually come up with the attacks and carry them out, and at most the top leadership offers suggestions on their next goal.

Re: Finally: they got Osama Bin Laden!
It's a nice symbolic victory and I dont have any doubts that it actually happened. Whether or not they timed it for the coming election or not is another story. It could just be really good luck. I don't think once Osama's location was confirmed they would waste too much time planning an operation.
Now we have to see what happens with US/Pakistan relations. Not as far as pakistan being mad that we didn't tell them about the operation..but the duplicity of Pakistan. Its kind of hard to believe they didn't know he was there.

Perhaps so America can declare it "won the war"? Goody. Now that we're all safe from the evil mastermind we can get rid of the "Patriot" Act.hunterman223 wrote:Although there's already conspiracies about the whole thing being a setup that the US fabricated. Why?

What a ridiculous statement.
The only person claiming anything is Obama, claiming he masterminded a Special Ops mission and is now a bona fide soldier of fortune. Soon to award himself a CMH, Silver Star with V device, and start wearing some funky looking military unifiorm, perhaps a nice OD green army field jacket and green beret, slap a few medals on it and Bamm!..... Obama is now "RambObama" mercenary and pres.
What a complete tool.

It's not necessarily 0bama himself, but moreso his fawning sycophants in the dead-tree and network media. It's pretty comical to watch.ThinkRob wrote: Now where on earth did you get all that? I suppose I may have missed that press conference...

I was thinking more along the lines of hypocrisy than zealotry.

Re: Finally: they got Osama Bin Laden!
When zealotry turns to fanaticism you have the makings of a real problem, that is indeed the current situation in the Obama regime. If it wasn't so pathetic and soon shortlived, I might worry more. The fanatics are becoming moreso, and the majority of the people that voted for him are seeing him for what he really is and are peeling away fast.If zealotry amongst one's supporters is a sin, no leader is innocent.
Re: Finally: they got Osama Bin Laden!
I love it how people are quick to blame Obama (or Bush) for America's woes, as if there weren't hundreds of other people in Congress alone who are complicit. "Don't vote for Obama, he'll raise taxes!" or "Don't vote for McCain, he'll continue the war!" Ridiculous. These things take place and persist with the consent and blessing of your more approachable elected Congressional representatives.

Re: Finally: they got Osama Bin Laden!
George W Bush's administration called for the capture or killing of Osama Bin Laden. Barack Obama's administration answered that call.
The deed has been done. Now it appears to be a political fight in the US as to whether it was right or wrong.
"Honi soit qui mal y pense", as they said in the time of King Edward III. Literally, from the mediaevil French, "Evil be upon he who thinks evil of this".
In other words, the leader will be judged by his peers, or by the people.
I see no evil in the death of Osama Bin Laden. I see no evil in the thoughts of two US presidents.
However, if you think that's the end of Al Queda then be afraid because they are much bigger than their (former) leader.
