T4xx on site support info on website ?
T4xx on site support info on website ?
Can anyone show me where on the lenovo website the options are shown for maintenance of T series laptops.
I'm in New Zealand. I'm currently on the phone to Lenovo. Am on my third person but although they can quote prices for on-site support (different depending on person you speak to) they can't find a document which specfies the options available.
I'm sure it must be out there some where !

Re: T4xx on site support info on website ?
OK to be fair the last person just gave me this URL ...
http://www.lenovo.com/psref/pdf/tabook.pdf
which does include at least a list of possible service options (on page 169).
Unfortunately I've just noticed they are all seem to reference the USA website so not clear how many apply to NZ.
Anyone out there know how to find this out ?

@Colonel O'Neill
Thanks for the link. It wasn't actually the hardware maintenance manuals I was after (although they were good to have for future reference) but rather a full list of the service options that were available to buy for a T-Series in New Zealand.
I realised the simplest thing to do would be go through the motions of buying a machine and see the options available for sale
.
There's kind of a lot them so I've pasted them at the bottom of this post.
So now my question is can anyone tell me what you're actually getting when you buy one of the following
:

LOR = Lenovo Onsite Repair
Found that on page 171 of http://www.lenovo.com/psref/pdf/tabook.pdf .
The text reads :

The text reads :
I think I understand that !
Limited onsite service systems are
designed to be repaired during the applicable
warranty period primarily with
customer-replaceable parts provided
by Lenovo. Lenovo will only send a
technician onsite to perform a repair if
(a) remote telephone diagnosis and/or
customer part replacement are unable
to resolve the problem, or (b) the part is
one of the few designated by Lenovo for
onsite replacement. For a list of onsite
replaceable parts, contact Lenovo. In
the United States call 1-800-426-7378.
Support unrelated to a warranty issue
may be subject to additional charges.
Lenovo onsite repair (LOR), 8 am to 5
pm, Monday through Friday coverage
excluding holidays, next business day
(NBD) response time.

Lenovo knows that your securing business data is vital to your success. Whether you work with sensitive data or not, ensure your business data remains in your hands with Lenovo Hard Disk Drive Retention service. Under the terms of the Lenovo Limited Warranty, when Lenovo replaces a defective part, that part becomes the property of Lenovo. If your hard drive fails and it is still covered under warranty, Hard Disk Drive Retention lets you keep your old drive and hold on to your data.

Best effort to get to you within a business day..... but if you are on Stewart Island or on top of Mt Cook (etc) it might take longer.southof40 wrote:[*] x Year onsite (what if they can't fix the problem onsite - do you get a loan machine ? No loaner machines.
