x-220 WITH BOOR SSD DRIVE AND 7200RPM HDD

#1 Post by mleclere » Fri May 06, 2011 5:06 pm

Anyone heard when the x-220 will be available with the bootable 80 GB SSD, along with the standard 320 GB HDD? It seems to be a great machine, but the faster boot time would be great and the small SSD's available are too small by themselves. Every time I call Lenovo, I get the "I don't know" answer... Sure would be good if they gave any answer with some specificity!!! :?:

the mSATA option showed up earlier this week in the W520.   other models should start seeing them as qualifications are complete.   sales reps say they don't know because they really don't know yet.

you're free to buy an mSATA drive on your own though.   it doesn't have to come from lenovo.

It's also dramatically cheaper to install it yourself since Lenovo has a 100% markup on the 80 GB model. It sells for 190, and Lenovo wants 380.

You can also get the 40 GB model, which will also boot (as I recall, check before) on that slot, for 100 bucks. Lenovo doesn't offer this one.

Just say no to the ThinkBook Pro.
