T400 Power on Password & Fingerprint Reader

#1 Post by hunterman223 » Wed May 11, 2011 4:28 pm

Quick question: I have a power on password set, with the fingerprint reader configured to replace it on startup. Instead of doing this, after my finger is read and accepted, a "Halt" hand symbol appears at the password prompt, and I have to type my password. My hard drive password inputs itself as normal though.

How do I completely replace the passwords with a fingerprint? Also, what is the option "Always show power-on security option" in the fingerprint software?

Thanks in advance.

Update: Figured it out. For anyone else with the same issue, clear the fingerprint reader through the Security settings in the BIOS, and re-enroll your fingerprints through the fingerprint software.
