graphic performance in X***/T***

#1 Post by pipinpipin » Sat May 14, 2011 9:33 am

Hi,

I am considering to replace my T41 (1GB RAM, 1 024x768) laptop. I have got a high performance desktop PC, the new Thinkpad will be used as a secondary computer when I work "on the road". I am not much into the hardware inside, hence I ask you for some advice regarding the performance. The most demanding tasks I do is a work in Photoshop, Illustrator and InDesign (CS5) at the same time when I design books. Sometimes I do 3D modelling in Rhinoceros. For any other application my current T41 is - not great - but OK. I suppose these jobs are demanding in terms of graphic performance and RAM memory.

What are the differences/how big are the differences in graphic performance in the following models?
X200/X201
T60p
T400/T410

I love the size and weight of T41, so I do not want anything bigger then this.
If I would do so, I would replace both of my computers by one Thinkpad W510 and get used to carry heavy computer.
I can hardly get 14" T61p where I live. I see the biggest weakness of my T41 in screen brightness and resolution and overall low performance. I do not need new laptop, used is OK.

Thank you for any suggestions, advise or links.

Petr
