Crashed Bios on Thinkpad T30 - Need Help on restoring it

#1 Post by IBMNewby » Sun May 15, 2011 5:29 am

Greetings all!

I found one of my older Thinkpad T30 2236 - 81U model and thought I can update the BIOS from the IBM website. I downloaded the BIOS for the Thinkpad T30 and follow the insturctions on the screen. I didn't unplug my laptop and just waited for it to give me a message that it finished updating my BIOS and to press "enter" to reboot the laptop. When I press enter, the laptop shutdown and I had to push the power button to turn it back on. The laptop stuck at the message "F1 for BIOS setup Utility" and "F12 for Temporary Boot Device". Both options will not do anything, but the screen is stuck on the "IBM thinkpad" logo.

What can I do to recover my laptop??? Any suggestion is greatly appreciated!

I am a Newby dealing with IBM thinkpads.

Thanks for your time. I am looking forward to any feedback on helping me recover the BIOS and allow my laptop to boot up again.

Thanks!!!
