general dusting &cleaning

I just took the palmrest out of my T30 to clean under it. It was pretty dirty/dusty. I put it back, and firmly connected the touchpad connector to the motherboard but now the touch pad and the trackball do not work. I managed to get the trackball to work by disabling the touch pad in setup. Any suggestions as to how to get them both to work like it used to.

Since your problem occurred after the clean up, I would re-do the whole cleaning process again. Make sure and blow out the connector(s) with compressed air and reseat the connection(s). Prior to re-installing all the screws, give it try to see if the problem is resolved.
