ALPS vs NMB Keyboard - What is the Difference?

#1 Post by kc27 » Mon May 16, 2011 1:32 pm

My T30 2366 KU1 Thinkpad has two part numbers listed for the keyboard:

08K4670 (NMB)
08K4699 (ALPS)

Can someone tell me the difference between the two keyboards? The Lenovo web page that lists the part numbers doesn't explain what NMB and ALPS mean.

Thanks in advance for the help.

Different manufacturers. NMB (at that time made in Thailand, nowadays in China) is the preferred one.

Thanks - what makes NMB preferred? Do they just hold up better, or is the difference something you can see/feel?

It's mostly user-impression based. NMB KBs just have a better tactile feeling.
