Performance on battery

#1 Post by freakwave » Thu May 19, 2011 3:10 pm

Hi all,

not usre if I got a lemon. But on battery my CPU runs at about 800MHz is super slow and clocks to a maximum of 2GHz. I can hardly do any serious work.
All power options are set to maximum, including BIOS.

I did a fresh install and also checked with the preinstalled image.

No difference, runs at 800MHz.

one additional observation:

when I run with the internal graphics only, then the power management runs perfectly fine.
I can set whatever I need in the power manager and the CPU clocks as expected.

Not so with the discrete Graphics adapter.

Does turbo boost kick in on battery, too? With optimus it doesn't for sure. Haven't tried with Intel graphics only...
