Gone: 760ED FREE PARTS

#1 Post by RealBlackStuff » Sat May 21, 2011 5:38 am

I had a CD-ROM drive and a battery for an IBM ThinkPad 760ED, possibly fitting in other models as well.
CD-ROM Drive TEAC CD-46
FRU P/N 82H8850
ASM P/N 82H5505

Battery IBM Li-Ion 10.8V 3.0AH
FRU P/N 29H9232
ASM P/N 29H9032

Sold to a forum member.
Lovely day for a Guinness! (The Real Black Stuff)

Thanks again!

The CD laser is dead, but i understand untested parts :P

I love the battery... after a quick charge... Linux reports:

Code: Select all

root@thinkpad:~# date
Fri May 27 09:17:10 PDT 2011
root@thinkpad:~# uptime
 09:17:13 up 2:00, 3 users, load average: 1.56, 1.34, 1.31
The display on this 760XL reads 18% left @ 1 bar (got the low battery warning beep at 17% just inutes later), so with boot time and the other 17%... can prolly figure 2.5 hours of life!

This is while doing a system update on debian SID with a wired network card attached, 4GB CF SSD drive and low backlight (slider is at midway mark [6 marks total]). And you can see the load averages, 1.3 is pretty HIGH for a single core cpu (.6 or less is preferred, 1+ is worrysome)

So I couldn't have asked for better :)
