T400, No GPS fix with Plenty of Satellites

#1 Post by hunterman223 » Sat May 21, 2011 10:33 am

My T400 with the Gobi 1000 will not acquire a fix. :x At the moment I am sitting outside with a clear view of the sky from all directions, not a cloud in sight. GPS enabler is tracking 4-5 satellites continuously, signal strength ranging from 30-40db. I left the GPS tracking in the background, and it has been 20 minutes so far, and it still says "No Fix". Is there something I am forgetting here?

I have tried in the front and back yard every day for the past week or so, same results every time!

download some pre-fix data for whatever gps software you use

the ericson card in my X200 took 10-20 minutes on a fresh lock.

Thanks, but care to elaborate? I am trying to use Microsoft Streets and Trips 2011 and I haven't even had the opportunity to try it out because if this issue.

Hmm. That's about how long I have given it each time I try to get a fix, but I eventually give up.
