T43p info
Hello
got a question about T43s...
I just acquired one with a Nov 06 build date... is that as new as it gets? it has lenovo branding everywhere!
Are there any difference between this and the older models? I also got one built 06/06 and March 06...
How can I tell if the screen is a Hydis or ID Tech?
Thanks

T43p info
Lenovo branding on a T43? Where on the laptop? Pics please if at all possible.
Punch in your serial number and machine type here:
http://www-307.ibm.com/pc/support/site. ... sLookup.vm
That will give you part numbers for the original system parts, you can look up the number it gives you for the LCD with google.
Edit: Did some research and found this thread. I guess I was wrong in thinking that all T43s were made by IBM, as yours is one of the newer ones it makes sense that it is Lenovo branded. I would still appreciate some pics though to compare it to the newer Lenovo's. I assume is still has the IBM ThinkPad tri-color logo, just a black Lenovo logo on the edge?

Re: T43p info
There were really no changes made to the T43/p line during its (quite long) life cycle. BIOS updates were quite numerous and dealt with a variety of bugs that initially plagued these systems, though.
The "newest" T43 I've ever seen was from January of 2007.
Most of the 15" UXGA LCDs used on these machines were ID Tech. I've only seen one (and sold it here on TPF) that left the factory with a Hydis screen. Several were retrofitted with these that I'm aware of, mostly by forum members.
Enjoy these T43ps. I'm never giving up on mine...

Re: T43p info
thank you for the info. wow - I had no idea they were made till Jan of 07.
the laptop says Lenovo on the front LCD plate and on the back cover palm rest says IBM and it says Lenovo on the bottom. i am loving the screen as this is my first flex view. I love not having to tilt the screen when i shift positions.
i am having problems looking up the difference between the hydia and id tech screens, would anyone mind explaining ? also i cannot find info on the different type of keyboards used !

Re: T43p info
so I checked the other two screens the one on the 0606 had a yellowish hue compared to a bluish hue on the one built on 1106. which is which ? or is one just more worn than other ?

Re: T43p info
Did you actually search for this information, or did you just not stumble across it, by pure coincidence?? See the thread WTB NMB keyboard for T42 and this links pointed to therein.slpin wrote:also i cannot find info on the different type of keyboards used !
T4x LCD's are hard (if at all possible?) to identify without taking the LCD, but see the thread Software app to identify LCD Display Part & Model Number. Try e.g. Aida32 or CPU-Z or SIW (Google yourself to find these free programs!) and then Google for more information about the actual manufacturer of your LCD once you have the info reported by these programs.slpin wrote:How can I tell if the screen is a Hydis or ID Tech?
Finally, kindly allow me to point your attention to this very useful search-script made by HarryC - try it out, and you'll learn how to find answers to many questions... already answered in great detail!
