cannot use 8GB of ram with T500/windows 7 x64?

Hello,

Last month I upgraded my T500 to 8GB of Mushkin ram, and shortly thereafter started experiencing black/blue screen crashes. From several tests, the ram is good.

I took my machine to the help desk at my college where the motherboard was replaced, but the problems persisted. It turns out that with 6GB, the system is stable. According to the tech, another guy with my same setup had the same issue not long ago.

Is this just some freak conflict? Anyone else run into this anywhere? I am just curious as this issue strikes me as being pretty strange. It'll be a while before I can mess with this anyway, since I need my system stable for school, but am just wondering if anyone has any insights.

Do both sticks of 4GB RAM pass memory tests?

Yes, both sticks pass the memory tests.

You have some bad hardware then. Either bad stick or mobo. I run 8gb on my T500 and it's fine.
