updated Access Connections now cannot connect to internet

I have a T43; updated ThinkVantage Access Connection to 5.83. After that the wireless adapter Intel PRO/Wireless 2915ABG can make a strong connection to the network, but I cannot access any webpages on my browsers. I did a system restore to before the update which is AC ver 5.21. My driver is 9.0.4.39. Still the same problem. I show a strong wireless connection to the network (public wi-fi that I've always used successfully) but cannot connect to the internet. Any ideas what my problem is?

You see I had the exact same problem but my problem was the internet was down. I started to panic that i did everything right and had excellent connection but the internet was down. A rookie mistake on my part but that was the problem.
