New/linked IE8 browser window steps on currently open IE8!

New or link IE8 browser window, steps on currently open IE8 browser. This is really annoying and impacts my productivity a lot. Just bought a new T520 at the beginning of May and everything is stock Lenovo.

When I open a link from a current browser it opens the link on top of site that I am on, I need a new browser window to open. This occurs even if I open a link from my email or Adobe Reader. Has anyone else seen this problem?


System is:
- Window 7 Professional 64bit
- IE8 64bit
- Microsoft updates are set to auto download (I apply them manually of course) and current.

I have Tabbed Windows turned off in the Tools and have checked in Tools > Internet Options > Advanced tab and looked at the list, but cannot find anything to force open a separte browser window.
