Re: please help everyone ibm r60
Welcome to the forum.
What is on offer on eBay came ex factory as:
Product: ThinkPad R60 9457-BA2 [change]
Original description: Based on 9457-8JU: T2400(1.83GHz), 512MB RAM, 60GB 5400rpm HD, 15in 1024x768 LCD, Intel 950, CDRW/DVD, Intel 802.11abg wireless, Modem, 1Gb Ethernet, UltraNav, Secure chip, 9c Li-Ion, WinXP Pro
It's not a bad deal, and these machines are real work horses, but...
You may find the (XGA) LCD resolution a bit low.
It's not suited to run the likes of Photoshop, but Irfanview etc. will work fine.
The internal speakers are nothing to write home about, but with (amplified) external speakers you'll be fine.
To store lots of music, the size of the hard disk is rather puny (put upgradable to 1 TeraByte).
There's a similar machine with better LCD and graphics (for about $70.- more) in our Marketforum: http://forum.thinkpads.com/viewtopic.php?f=11&t=96652
