Greetings

#1 Post by steveg1988 » Sun Jun 05, 2011 9:04 am

Hello, i am not exactly new to the thinkpad. I had a 755CD in 2002 that i bought second hand for high school. That was also the last thinkpad i had until this tuesday (june 7th 2011) when my Recon T60 arrives. Thought i would introduce myself on the off-topic part first. I am a star trek fan, into cars, and i am fairly tech savvy, having built several computer systems in the past. I have used Windows 3.11 on a IBM Eduquest in elementary school, windows 95-7 on home computers, Mac os 7-10.4.11. Among other operating systems, i even fooled around with Ecomstation on a old Compaq Aramada E500, as well as BeOS on that same system. Linux i have fooled around with but never as a day to day OS.

Hi Steve,

Welcome to the Forum! I'm sure you'll find some very useful discussions and a wealth of Thinkpad knowledge here, as I have.

Hiya! and WOW, sounds like my bio... except for the Mac stuff.. eww :P (Although I still want a mac just to toy with, and I have dabbled with PearPC(OS/X) and Gemulator(Sys7), the mac emulators).

I mainly still mess with ALL the other stuff in your post :P

Glad to have ya around and welcome to the forums :)

There is a Mac dealer in Oregon I have dealt with in the past and they seem like a great bunch of folks. They have used units too ...

I might have to swing by next time I'm up in Portland (they are about 5 hours, 250mi away :P)

I know so little about Macs that i would like to be in store to buy one, and ask questions :P

More then likely i will prolly build a PC and put OS/X on it instead :P
