X120e Keyboard Problems
X120e Keyboard Problems
My x120e just came in the mail this morning and it's great, except for one thing. Sometimes, the space bar, enter key, ctrl key, alt key, escape key, and backspace key refuse to work no matter how hard I press it. Do I have to RMA the laptop or could this be fixed with a driver update or something?
Thanks.
Thanks.
Re: X120e Keyboard Problems
My opinion is that a driver will not fix 'some' keys not working 'sometimes'.
Re: X120e Keyboard Problems
Any suggestions then?
Re: X120e Keyboard Problems
If it is under warranty I'd call it in for service. I don' t know if the keyboard on an X120e is customer replaceable, but that is a possibility ... in which case Lenovo would simply ship you a keyboard which you'd replace yourself. Call them to find out the scoop.
Re: X120e Keyboard Problems
Will do, thanks for your help!
Re: X120e Keyboard Problems
I believe I have the same issue and need some help concerning my keyboard also. I recently purchase my Thinkpad x120e and now has a few keys that are not working. I wanted to know where you able to receive any information from Lenovo on what can be the issue? I currently in South America and have no way to get any tech support. Any information would be greatly appreciated. Thanks
Re: X120e Keyboard Problems
I had some keys that weren't sensitive enough, and called Lenovo and got a replacement keyboard sent overnight (I didn't ask for overnight, but they were nice enough to do that).
I'm typing on the new one now (I was away when it arrived, just got to install it now).
It seems to feel better than the one that the x120e came with... a very slight difference in feel. Perhaps different manufacturers? There was slightly different labeling on the underside of the keyboards as well, and the box said "New Batch" on it. I don't know if that is any indication of anything, but I thought I'd mention it.
