[*]2007-DD1
[*]No fingerprint scanner (thought that was odd)
[*]4:3 screen (eyeballing it at 15", were there any other 4:3 T60?)
[*]1.8GHz Core Duo
[*]1GB ram
[*]100GB 5400rpm Hitachi HDD
It will not power on at all, no beeps even without ram or anything else attached to the bus.
I got this around Christmas time when I went to visit my family. My neighbor (childhood friend) had graduated school and come to visit as well. He handed me his Wake Forest issued school laptop to see what I could do with it. I ended up recovering his files and simply leaving the rest shelved until I learned of the awesome FlexViews in the T60 series--needless to say, I really want to get the thing working now!
I believe the planar is dead, but I want to verify the screen type before I purchase another and go through the trouble of replacing it.
Is there any way to tell if the panel is IPS/FlexView? ..or am I going to have to disassemble the screen to look at the panel model >_<
[edit]
Well what do you know! I went to Lenovo support and found the following after putting in the model #:
1400x1050 lets me know that this laptop *may* be IPS/FlexView, since that option was available for SXGA+ models. Hmm.. still researching..Based on 2007-C7U: T2400(1.83GHz), 1GB RAM, 100GB 5400rpm HD, 15in 1400x1050, 128MB ATI Radeon X1400, CDRW/DVDRW, 802.11abg wireless, Bluetooth/Modem, 1Gb Ethernet, UltraNav, Secure chip, 6c Li-Ion batt, WinXP Pro

I referenced the following URL for part numbers:
http://www-307.ibm.com/pc/support/site. ... 62806.html
The 2007-C7x SXGA+ models have two panels listed:
LG-Phillips 13N7078
BOE Hydis 13N7196
I intend to look up the specs on these panels shortly. The page is a listing of replacement parts, however, so I must ask--Is it possible for the laptop to have shipped with any *other* panel than the above two listed?
