I could only find this under their "Science and Tech" section, not on the main page.

The local paper (for the residents of the South Bay, it's affectionately known as the "Murky News") has an article in today's issue: http://www.mercurynews.com/business/ci_18283702

Note that the link will probably die in a week or two, so read it now before you have buy access to it...

Thank you, Peak2Peak, for that link. It was a wonderful 13 minutes ... including mention of the 1401 which was the first computer I operated back in 1967.

Another IBMer for most of my working life, like killer starting on the 1401.
I committed "adultery" by working for the competition (Sperry/Univac/Unisys) for several years, but returned into "the fold" of Big Blue.
My last job was with Bear Stearns (RIP) in their Dublin/Ireland offices, working with DB2 on their humongous Terabyte Data Warehouse project (storage units located in Whippany, NJ), at that time (2001) probably one of the largest such databases in the world.
Lovely day for a Guinness! (The Real Black Stuff)
