I have a Seagate Ultra ATA/100 200 gig internal hard drive, that I installed into an external enclosure.
When I turn the drive on, my T42 makes that little "bum bum" sound, when something USB is connected. The new hardware thing came up, then it said, "your new hardware is configured and ready to use."
The problem is that I don't see the new drive in My Computer. I have done this before, with a drive that was set to "Master" and it just appeared in My Computer.
I set this one to master, and slave and whatever the default was, and it always connects successfully, but I can never see it in My Computer. It appears in the "Safely Remove Hardware" menu also.
Any thoughts as to why I can't see this thing?
Thank you very much,
Plink
