Where can I get the Dell Neomagic Magicgraph256ZX driver?PIC

AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAGGGGGGGGGGGGHHHHHHH!!!!!!!!!!!!!

There are *billions* of sites on the internet that claim to have this driver.
*All* of them are either:

1.Hoplessly out of date. The download link is to http://www.neomagic.com

2.Theives trying to extort payment for a free driver. :x

3.Hackers with fake "installers" to fill your computer with advertizements and spyware. :flame:

4.Trick sites that return false results to search engines to make you come look at their advertizements.

Does anyone have a legitimate link? I really need this driver.

I also need to know the polarity of the 24V power supply for a Gateway FPD1570 monitor. It only shows a solid line over 3 -'s next to "DC 24V". Does that mean something?

Linux driver: supported by "neomagic" driver in Xorg

98 driver: http://ftp.us.dell.com/video/W98NEO03.EXE

NT driver: http://ftp.us.dell.com/video/Z1022R02.exe

XP driver: no drivers were ever released for XP

You might wanna start browsing the web with Firefox with the Adblock & NoScript extentions installed.

I only found links to Dell and DriverGuide (DriverGuide is harmless, they make you look at an ad, answer a question, then downloads an installer (uncheck the offer[currently Bing toolbar] during install, and save your driver file, then click the X to close the final survey)

Tip for searching google for drivers: add "driverguide" to your search string...

http://www.google.com/search?q=drivergu ... graph256ZX

Driverguide has been around for YEARS, he found a way to make a buck that while annoying, is benign. Just be sure to read screens in the installer and if you choose, don't install his offer. (Bing toolbar is harmless, and the owner of DG makes some pennies :P)

I think I'm running an alternate Neomagic driver for XP on my 600X.

We've gotta get the forum search feature fixed. Here is where I posted a link to it last year, and the link still works now:

There are a couple comments in that thread about where I think I got the driver from, and what it might do.

yup, pkiff's drives is dated 01/02/2002 v5.12.1.0, the NT/2000 driver (which should work in XP) is dated 07/02/1999 v1.10.8.0, so very much newer, but looking at the inf appears like another good driver.

Goog find pkiff :)

Would the driver pkiff posted work in windows 7? I might try it if noone is sure. Would get windows 7 running properly on my 600x, if I could get a working display driver.

I have an FPD1520 monitor but it has an AC cord; no DC adapter. The solid line with three dashes indicates that the power is DC (as opposed to AC where you would see a sine wave: ~ ). It does not say anything about the polarity of the plug. For that, it's usually printed on the adapter right next to those lines, like this:

Image

If that's not printed on the adapter, or less likely, on the plug itself, then you would need to use a voltmeter to determine the polarity. This of course assumes that the supply is still working :) . The monitor itself may have the polarity noted next to the power jack.

edit: A little bit of searching yields this: http://ftp.qrz.ru/pub/hamradio/schemes/ ... 70-lcd.pdf Page 2 of this .PDF says it's center positive. Double check the description of the front panel controls, pictures, etc. to make sure it matches your monitor. I searched for FPD1570 but there's nothing in the .PDF that says it's for Gateway.
