sound over displayport

#1 Post by alhaz » Mon Jul 04, 2011 3:33 am

Hello everyone

As far as we already know the new x220 transmit audio over display port. Recently I have bought new cable hdmi->display port and I have connected it to samsung 32". There is no sound BUT, when ill use for example Ubuntu from livecd sound is transmitted! I have windows 7 home preinstalled with system, the NEWEST drivers from systemupdate. I also tried to reinstall drivers, from offical intel site and also sound didnt work.

I have" intel audio for screens" in device managaer installed but only conextant smart audio in windows sound manager

I used the solution from forum (ctrl +fn6, starting smart audio panel etc ) and there ISNT hdmi option :/ but here is the WEIRDEST thing: when Im connected to tv and while still connected Im uninstalling intel drivers(+marking uninstall software) I can hear SOUND and I can see 3 hdmi devices in windows sound manager!?

Anybody got a clue what to do? On ubuntu livecd everything works fine so it itsnt hardware problem but rather intel/lenovo drivers ;/
