Error 271 check date
Error 251 system CMOS checksum bad
Default configuration used
Error 1802 unauthorized network card us plugged in. Power off and remove mini pci card.
I went into the BIOS and reset the date, but I continued to get the 1802 error.
I then removed the wireless card and tried again. I got the 271 error again and reset the date in the BIOS again. The computer then booted up normally... less any wireless connection.
Since that time, I've booted it a few more times and intermittently gotten the 271 error and had to reset the date. Other times it starts normally and already has the correct time & date.
My questions are these?
1. Do I just need to replace the BIOS battery and the Wireless card and my problems will be solved?
2. Is something else going on here that will not be cured by replacing those?
3. Any idea what happened in the first place?
4. If I'm replacing my wireless card, is there a particular one that's better than the others? The one currently in it (well, not at the moment) is a BG2200.
5. Anyone have these two items laying around that they'd like to sell?
Side Note: I also need a standard battery for an X40, if anyone has one of those available, or a good source suggestion.
Thanks,
