i'm currently debating the merits of buying an x61 tablet with xga multiview/multitouch vs. one with a regular xga screen because i found this tidbit of disconcerting information about x61t screen options:
now, the 5-year old desktop monitor i'm staring into right now has 250 nits of brightness, so i'm wondering what a 150-nit display even looks like.12.1" Super-Wide Angle FFS XGA TFT (1024x768, 195nits),
12.1" MultiView/MultiTouch XGA TFT (1024x768, 150nits)
in the experience of anybody who has a multiview/multitouch model, do the benefits of having a touchscreen outweigh the decreased brightness? if so, then how have you found multitouch to be a helpful feature? (i'm not 100% certain of what multitouch has to offer because internet searches have not yielded a lot of information on a feature once offered on a laptop that's now four years old.)
i guess i'm trying to decide if i really want it that badly. i intend to use the system while on-the-go (e.g. on the bus, or on the subway) and i'd like to know if ridding myself of the stylus pen (which could be cumbersome in those situations) is worth the dimmer screen (which may mean increased eye strain).
i know i probably sound like a crazy person. worst case scenario, i find ebayers with good return policies and try both types out for myself.
