#1 Post by flaco1801 » Sat Jul 09, 2011 5:52 pm

just put a new hard drive and havin fun with this old "new" laptop.... i have been reading that a mini card can be installed so that a usb wireless connection can be eliminated...i opened the slot and i see a modem ethernet and a modem bluetooth card... i see the mini card needs hard wire connections....do i simply remove the 2 cards and snap in the mini card and attach the wires that were connected to the modem and bluetooth cards? thanks guys ...jeff

No.

What you see are modem and LAN cards, don't touch any of them.

You should also see an empty mini-PCI slot. That's where the wireless card would go.

However, you'd have to run antennae into the LCD lid and then connect them to the card.

You might be able to get an entire wireless-ready lid (any A3X in 15" format will work, doesn't have to be from A30p) for a few bucks and just drop your screen in...
