Gobi 3000 installation possible in T500?

#1 Post by SteveHeckler » Sun Jul 10, 2011 6:37 pm

Hi, All,

I have a ThinkPad T500 running 64-bit Windows 7 and currently have a Gobi 1000 card. I'd like to upgrade to the Gobi 3000 to take advantage of 4G LTE on the Verizon network in the US. Is that possible? I see the card offered on Lenovo's site, but no indication of whether it would be compatible with my T500.

Of course.

The only thing you'd need is a modded BIOS and perhaps a taped pin 20.

Just say no to the ThinkBook Pro.

Thanks for your insight! Dumb question: what BIOS mod is needed and how do I tape pin 20
