Problem returned ONLY when the computer was left on overnight didn't complete the hibernate and remained on in the bag. This resulted in it getting very hot right above the vent. It seems that extreme heat would shrink the Styrofoam. With the laptop on I removed the bezel and released the two screws on the left hand side and it would fix the issue.
So today I replaced the styrofaom with a 1.5 in x 4 in strip of bubble envelope

I used this because the thickness was bigger and more resistant to heat. I know there probably are better materials out but hey if it works it works.

Hello all
I bought an x41 table on Craigslist for $75 and ended up reselling it 3 days later for $175 after I cam across an like new X60 tablet for $200 with new battery, pen and dock. So total price for the X61T was $100 (75+25). So picked it up and the guy says the screen JUST started doing the 1/3 page flicker yesterday, i bought it at night and didnt see the cracks on the front bezel. So being in need of a laptop i took the chance. Got it back home and it happened occasionally. I left on over night and low and behold the problem is back. So I said forget it I am going out of town and need a viable laptop for my trip.
I saw no answers for the fix on here or any other place besides send it back to Lenovo...... that's not an option. For some reason i guess people don't have to many issues with Thinkpads enough to post countless videos on YouTube about how to fix them, unlike my HP DV9000 that over heated and melted the motherboard or GPU.
Anyways this seems to be a common problem on the tablets due to incorrect handling of the laptop. So much pressure is put on the circuit board on the left hand side that is bend causing miss contact. Temporary fix is to pinch the left side until it goes away which is annoying and unacceptable when presenting a power point one on on at a restaurant.
To counteract that pressure caused over time:
1. Remove screen bezel and lifted up the screen (google how to remove facia and screen its pretty straight forward).
2. Turn X60t on and book to bios; this is so you can see if you are doing it right.
3. Then take a white styro foam cup and cut a 0.6 x 2.5 in flat strip of the cup
4. Placed it in the middle of the left edge flushed to the foam already there
5. Tighten screws down and see if this fixes your issue if not adjust the strip.
6. Once tighten down reboot once in regular mode and twice in tablet.
7. Test digitizer, give it a few shakes. If all is well you should be good.
This simulates your pinching of the right side of the screen. So far so good. I hope this helps and saves you guys $300-900 in repairs or parts. This worked for me and is in no way guaranteed to be a long term fix. However, I go through used laptops quick sometimes so this is a good enough fix for me. If this fails anytime soon I will up date this thread accordingly
Hope this helps,
