Brightness control not working in tablet shortcut menue

Hello-

I have an X200 tablet that came with windows vista. I downgraded to XP. The brightness control will not work in the tablet mode using the tablet shortcut menue. Other functions of the tablet shortcut menue work fine, & the brightness control in the power manger works as a work around, but it would be easier to use in the tablet shortcut menue. It has worked in the past with xp. I'm not sure what has changed. I uninstalled the tablet shortcut software & drivers & then reinstalled them & it still does not work.

Does anyone have any ideas on how to fix this? Thanks for your help!
