a30p thinkpad wont turn on after holding off button.

#1 Post by benny777 » Wed Jul 13, 2011 9:36 am

I closed my a30p thinkpad for a few minutes, when o reopened the screen was black with the mouse cursor showing so I turned off the machine by holding down the power button for 10 seconds. So now I can't turn it back on, the charge light operates and if i listen closely I can hear a faint really high beep when I hold down the power button. Can anyone help me.

Welcome to the forum!

Try this old trick:

Remove the battery, hard and media drives. Unplug the adapter.

Press the "power" button ten times in a row, holding it down for 10 seconds each time, and 30 seconds the last time around.

Plug the adapter - but nothing else - back in and try to power on.

Good luck.
