The best performing W520 ?

#1 Post by ComputerMinder » Thu Jul 21, 2011 12:52 pm

If one would want the absolute best performing, strongest W520 model what would that be ?

I found the W520 4276-23U model and would like to know if there's anything stronger? Or is that the best performing flagship Thinkpad until now?

For that matter, if someone has some sort of insider's information, does anyone know if a new W520 model is expected?

In that case I'd rather wait a bit, that is if there's any word of a stronger model coming up say in the next 3 months.

Depends on the definition what is "the best performing" - optimum or maximum?
Have a look at this one remarkable tests http://forum.notebookreview.com/lenovo- ... -here.html.

By best performing I meant maximum performance. Thanks a lot for the link of comparison

Not rocket science here - order the fastest chip, most expensive video card and max out the memory and you have a deal.

Do not forget Solid State Disks generation 3 with 6GB/s throughput and definitely select RAID enable motherboard.

Yup on the above, except for RAID. See numerous threads about 'To RAID or Not to RAID'. Exposure is not worth any (slight) performance boost, and is likely not noticeable to most users.
