i am writing with 2 problems. I have a 760 xL Think pad. On the back side panel is where one connects to whatever else one wants to connect with, all the connector holes are back there. It is covered by a black piece that slides open to access that back panel. my back sliding piece fell off and nothing is presently covering the connector holes. Anyone have an extra back piece or know where i can get one or have one for sale?
also this is a problem that i have already posted but got no help with. i am asking again because with all you Thinkpad smart guys out there some one should know what to do. When i am not typing and reading my documents, my think pad goes into sleep mode every 5 min. like clockwork. i know how to get it out of sleep mode but i dont want it going into sleep mode every 5 min. i have been all over the control panel and have put all the appropriate settings into "never" and it still goes into sleep mode every 5 min. what do i do ? Please help. thank you.
Help again and piece missing.

You may find the answer in this thread http://forum.thinkpads.com/viewtopic.php?t=7320
or at least have you looking in the right direction.
Failing that I suggest going to
www.ibm.com.au
then click on "support & downloads"
In the page that comes up do a search in the "Technical support" area for "Thinkpad XXXX maintenance manual"
XXXX = model number of your lap top.
Eg: "Thinkpad 600X maintenance manual"
When you find the relevant manual look up say "power" and "battery".
Or look at power options in your computers control panel.
All the best
