t420s with crucial c300 ssd issue

#1 Post by puma » Tue Jul 26, 2011 11:26 am

Hey guys I have a t420s and today swapped out the HDD for a crucial c300 ssd. I removed the spacer, popped it in... all well and good. I did the first round of updates from lenovo via system update.. Now the machine will not turn on anymore. I removed the SSD and it turns on fine.. No lights nothing.. I am wondering if maybe an update I did triggered this. Anyone have any ideas as to where i can look?

Intel solid state drive 320 series.

I had to remove the spacer which means you will need shorter screws than the one you remove in order to seal it back. I got 4 screws from an old thinkpad t42. The ones that hold the palm rest in place.

no i really dont.. I almost felt like just taking the screws that came with it and just using plyers to clip them shorter. Not sure how well that would go. Do a search on the forums for "thinkpad t420s crucial c300" some of those guys had some ideas. I believe one person was actually ordering them in bulk for people maybe he has some left.
