IBM Ethernet Credit Card Adapter II

#1 Post by ThinkPad560X » Fri Jul 29, 2011 1:26 am

I'm looking for the Driver for my IBM ThinkPad 755CD to install IBM Ethernet Credit Card Adapter II. Its the only way to access the Internet on it other than Dial-up witch its using now. I found a few sites on google to download a guessing driver with some viruses, but don't trust downloading from a 3ird party site and always download from IBM/lenovo.com. I don't know where to look under lenovo.com or does IBM still own IBM Accessories such as PCMCIA cards and such. Heres the complete card info: IBM PCMCIA Ethernet Credit Card Adapter II Cable-RJ45 Mfr P/N 42H4916+CABLE.

Win98, I would use the Windows update, but you must regi with microsoft to download Hardware updates and that is no longer working as you know.

I think it was native to Win 98, but perhaps an update as you said. I can't find it other than the third party driver sites.

Okay, I'll just use my CF card and copy the win 98 CD to it. When I insert the Ethernet card it asks to insert the Win98 disc, but the 755CD CD drive isn't working/reading well, for its age, Or maybe I can use my IBM Portable Drive bay 2000, I just thought about it.

You will need the cab files from 98 :)

Yeah it asks to install the Win98 disc but my 755CD's CD drive don't read discs very well.

You can put the cab files frin the cd into the hard disk, normally under C:\WINDOWS\OPTIONS\CABS for 98

I use a portable usb enclosure on my 760's to transfer files... can put the cover over it, but it connects fine...

Im running a really long CAT5e "Soon to be upgrading to CAT6" from a wireless router to my room. I think its a D-Link router. But im running the LAN cable to my room to my IBM 8271 Ethernet switch so I can run the LAN to my systems. I like land lines over wireless. I can get one computer to run with the connection but not the rest. Im using the 3 way now "not connected to LAN switch" and one computer gets interent while the other gets local area network limited or no connection. and visversa if depending witch one I plug in first.
