XP Pro SP3, error on reboot after updating to SP3
I don't think I really need a recovery disk, I have that for XP Pro, but I need to be able to boot up my T23 and do restore back to the point before I applied the SP3 that generated this error on reboot after it applied the update. I waited a really long time before applying this and now I'm sorry I did. I cannot boot into any of the safe mode options I have tried as the same error comes up.
This is the error: lsass.exe system error, The endpoint format is invalid.
I have an SP2 disk, but it's not bootable, only the XP Pro disk is. That one only gives me an option to recover, etc. I have tried searching for an ISO SP2 download since there's one for SP3 at M$.
I am hoping to have a boot disk that would me to do a restore or a fix for this The Endpoint Format is Invalide dialog box with lsass.exe system error.
If I choose recover, will it leave my drive contents intact? I do have most of them backed up, I did that before I applied the SP3.
Thanks! I sure would like to get back to using this soon!

A recover will completely wipe your disk (apart from the Recovery partition).

Yeah, that would be great if I could figure out how to get to a command line. I'm not that savvy with recovery or restore disks in windoze.
Thanks!

Is your XP Pro disc a XP Pro disc or a recovery disk?
If it is just a bootable XP disc, you can do a repair install that will leave your system intact. It will just lack all updates that will need to be re-applied.
read this:
http://www.michaelstevenstech.com/XPrepairinstall.htm
You basically boot the XP CD like your going to install new... you choose install, XP will ask if you want to repair... ONLY if it does, go ahead. This will leave all programs/data intact but you will need to redo all updates to XP to get back to where you were.
Before I slipstreamed my XP CD with SP2, I did this on several machines then re-applied SP2. Nice way to get a system back when I somehow fubar'd it
