T43 screen light dime down after standby or close the lip

My T43 screen light dime down and look like screen back light burn out. After tap on the closed tip bottom on top of ESC key, the screen light back up again. Is it the tip bottom problem or too hot on video chip?? I can't turn off screen. Its hard to boot screen back on once screen off.

You are very had to understand, but I think you are saying that if you tap on top of the closed LCD lid right over the esc key area, the LCD turns back on after dimming out. If that is the case I'd guess you have a cold solder joint or short at the CCFL or possibly the wiring into the inverter. Take the LCD apart to see if the lead wires are shorting anywhere. Could just simply be a bad backlight too.

when i said screen dimming out, its not total off, i can see window logo during boot up but the light too dime and dark. I have tap on the lid bottom couple time to get the screen light up.

Same issue basically...see my recommendations above. Also check the lid switch.

Thanks both of you. So far, im need this laptop on my work. I can afford screen go black out again and can't turn back on. I'll try as soon as i get my work backup. thanks again.
