Moire pattern on screen after reinstalling Windows XP

Hi, I experience this phenomena mainly on the laptop screen, but also on my digital Samsung screen. It basically occurs in evenly colored areas. I've tried to reinstall the driver a few times, but this does not seem to do the trick. "PC Doctor" can not find any problems with my system.
R41 8918DFG, bought a little more than three years ago.

Your problem might (but need not be) related to a GPU that could be going bad.
