WTB: planar for T60 15"

#1 Post by antond » Mon Aug 01, 2011 8:07 am

I just learned that I have bad video memory, so I will need a new motherboard in my T60.

I'd prefer a T60 or T61p board, because of the higher memory limit.
T60p is second on the list.
(I will occasionally need the graphics chip so I'm not looking for an Intel GMA board, although if that's all I can find I would still be happy!)

If anyone has a board with the 'bad batch' nVidia GPU which hasn't failed (yet), please contact me.
Since I will only need this system for +- a year, I think I could try my luck with one of these?
Most of the time it will just be running a couple of small VM's.
My main priority is to keep the cost down, any offers are welcome.

If you have something I might be interested in, or need more info, do not hesitate to contact me!

Is it a 15.4" wide screen or a 15" 4:3 T60? 4:3 uses the same board as a 14" machine with an interposer card added. The best question is what is the first 4 digits of the type?, like 2007.

Have you checked eBay for something e.g. like this or this? According to the thead Need advice on repairing 2007-FVG the 42T0122 should be a X1400 mobo for 4:3 T60's.

Note: If the eBay'ers pointed to above won't ship out of USA, then maybe an US-based forum member will be willing to help you forwarding the packege to Belgium.. if this US-based fantastic friendly forum fellow :-) buy it, it comes all packaged and ready for forwarding, so all there is needed is to print your address, walk to the USPS office, and send it! Anyone? 8)

I've contacted the seller, no shipping to Belgium :-(
There are some others available on eBay, but most of them don't want to do the shipping.
Those who do, usually have a higher asking price!

Checkout the German ebay site (www.ebay.de) - There are a few seller's who dispatch to Euro regions with reasonable postage rates etc.

I may have a couple of pulled T60 Motherboards in storage - but as far as I remember they only have ATi x1300 GPU's (64MB VRAM). :|
