Hello from Oz,
I have just purchased a x220 tablet from the US website, with the exchange rate and the exorbitant price of the same product on the Australian website it ended up less that half the price.
I have a few questions;
1. Does the writing function on the tablet convert to text?
2. Will Onenote 2007 work with in the tablet mode effectively or would I need to update to Onenote 2010.
3. Is there any good software (productivity) available for the tablet side of the device.
Many thanks in advance
Tony
A couple of question regarding the X220 Tablet
Re: A couple of question regarding the X220 Tablet
As far as software is concerned I found this:
http://www.mirabyte.com/en/products/fro ... index.html
http://usa.autodesk.com/adsk/servlet/pc ... id=6848450
http://www.ograhl.com/en/pdfannotator/
http://www.ritescript.com/Products/Products.aspx
Also I found some Microsoft Powertoys available for the Tablet.
Anyone owning a tablet, can you answer questions regarding notes to text, display brightness or any other useful software additions?
Cheers

Re: A couple of question regarding the X220 Tablet
I don't own an x220 but I have owned other tablets.
1. writing can be converted to text. I never used this function, but it does work. it'd probably work better when the computer "learns" your handwriting more. you can use this instead of the on-screen keyboard, and also in onenote. other programs probably support it too.
2. onenote 2007 and 2010 are fairly similar. 2010 will be more up to date and have some more features, but they are pretty close. I had no issue with 2007 and used it for over a year (until 2010 beta came out).
display brightness has generally been fine for me. I used my tablets (hp tx2500z and hp tm2t) in classrooms, so there was a lot of bright lighting from above. i'd keep the brightness between 40% and 60% to save battery. both of those computers had extremely glossy screens. lenovo's tablets tend to have much better screens, at least as far as viewing angles go (which were terrible on both hp laptops).
my hp tm2t had this: http://www.microsoft.com/download/en/de ... x?id=17368
it's more of "fun" programs than productive.

Re: A couple of question regarding the X220 Tablet
Thank you for your reply.
I would like to use the tablet mode in the classroom also, especially for students with learning difficulties as well as mind mapping.
Cheers Tony
P.S I am glad that I can use one note 2007, saves an upgrade.
