Wait on the X220 Slice Battery

Just ordered a slice battery and the wait is apparently
"more than 4 weeks".
Is this accurate or are Lenovo just giving a "worst case" scenario

What actually happens with a ship date is a throw of the dice early in the order, but I believe they try to give a worst case scenario.

They are a bit light on. I have been watching ebay for a week or so and no offerings. I have access to a Lenovo Education website so they are a bit cheaper ($142)

Would be interesting to know if they are as bad as the Ultrabay batteries were... After a 100 cycles down to 40% capacity...? And is it finally possible to drain the main battery first as opposed to secondary batteries, like with the Ultrabay batteries? Yes, I know the trick with the Ultrabay battery.

There is no such need in this feature with slice battery, as replacement of main battery requires removing the slice battery (as opposed to ultrabay batteries, which are physically independent from main batteries).
So, if you have more than one slice battery, with old-style discharging order (main battery last) you can replace slice batteries without the need to shut down the laptop. If you have more than one main battery, you should shut down the laptop before replacing the battery (as you should remove both slice and main batteries), no matter what discharge order is used.

If the slice batteries die as quickly as the baybatteries there is a need. Obviously you would wan the cycle count to be as low as possible on the more expensive slice battery and therefor you would want the main battery to be used up first.

Either way; you should get a choice.
