T43 WITH WIN 7 AND POWER MANAGEMENT DRIVER PROBLEM

hi. thought i would let you all know that i have now upgraded my T43 to windows 7 ultimate. i also maxed out the memory to 2gb of crucial. the install of w7 went without a hitch and was ready to go in under an hour. the cable network driver is installed along with windows and when you connect to windows update all other drivers are installed except for the biometric device and the power management driver. the drivers were downloaded from IBM but i could not get the power management driver to install no mater how hard i tried. the driver came down as a self extracting file.
in the end what i had to do was decompress the driver using winrar and install it manually by searching for the driver via the control panel. hey presto this worked great

Hi, could you run the Windows Experience Index assessment and post the results here? I am just curious how big is a difference (in points) if the system uses ATI GPU driver from Windows Update or Catalyst driver from Lenovo support which is for Windows Vista. Thanks.

On my T43 with ATI X300 I got a 2.0. Vista driver.

There's no discernable difference.
