R61 graphics performance problem (x3100)

#1 Post by JKK » Wed Aug 10, 2011 10:07 pm

Hello,

I searched but couldn't find my answer : With that graphic chip, you're supposed to be able to play old games quite well or even very well;

For example the famous Source games. But for me, it's not. I'm far, very far from the result people show on youtube with Core2Duo+X3100.

And i mean even with Intel drivers, not already the modded one! So i'm wondering if the 3 serie have inside them a CHEAP X3100 or what..?

I tried all i could, checked performance in power manager, bios options, etc... So i hope someone will be able to tell me if i have a failure or else...

Thanks :?

R61 X3100 GPU is the very same as T61 X3100 GPU, not some cheapo version.
Check the OS on those Youtube movies, is it XP, Vista, W7, a Linux flavor?
Probably they use a different OS from you.

Have you installed and run Lenovo's SystemUpdate 4.0 for W7?

I didn't, i just checked driver page. Now i did, so what do you want to know?

I'm not seeing anything related to graphics. Nobody's having a R61 X3100 here?

Just download the Intel graphics driver straight from Intel. Works fine.

I played through Doom3 on an overheating (clogged fans) X61.

I have a T61/X3100 with Windows 7 Pro (32-bit) installed.
Running like a champ, but I never play anything on it.
For things like that I got a desktop.

What's your settings on Doom 3 and what's your average FPS?
