E420s mSATA SDD Problem: 2103 detection error

I'm trying to install a Samsung 64gb mSATA SDD in my E420s, and I encounter a 2103 error, telling me that there is a detection error on HDD2 (Mini SATA).

My system configuration:
4410CTO
i5 CPU
8gb RAM

I've tried various BIOS settings (legacy and UEFI, AHCI...), but can never get the mSATA drive to recognize. Any ideas? Is this mSATA simply incompatible with the E420s? I see a lot of different mSATA vendors advertise all sorts of drives as compatible with E420s, so I'm really disappointed this one won't wort. Any help appreciated!
